all there. The church edifice at Harrisonburg is near completion; large and interesting services have
been held in the auditorium the past month. This house, completed, will cost about $5,000. It is an
excellent structure, and the work in Harrisonburg is quite encouraging indeed. The brethren there have
done nobly and will arrange for a dedication service when the financial condition renders it expedient.
A parsonage was purchased on Pendleton circuit costing near $1,000. Something has been paid; of the
remaining $800, $500 was paid this year, leaving $300 to be paid in 3 years. This is a heroic effort
worthy of imitation. On Rockbridge circuit a parsonage has been built. Though not completed, it is
occupied by the pastor. The cost so far is $350. It is well located, and much credit is due to those who
pushed the work forward.

Two sessions of the Ministerial Institute were held, and though not largely attended, were
interesting and helpful. The annual meeting of the Y.P.C.U. was held at Dayton and had many excellent
features. None have been licensed to preach, but four formerly licensed have been recommended to the
Annual Conference. A visit was made to Covington at the request of the Conference Missionary, and
while there is an opening, and we were kindly solicited to begin work there, yet at present the way is not
sufficiently clear before us to do so. Prof. E. V. Hoenshel took charge of Shenandoah Institute in
September. He and his amiable wife are well received and a most hopeful outlook is before the School.
Recently Bro. Howe was appointed to solicit funds to liquidate the indebtedness, in which work he is
succeeding well. Help him. We should pay this debt and pay it now.

I have given my whole time to the district, excepting that required to complete the year’s work in
Shenandoah Institute. Sixty-seven quarterlies were held. Some assistance was kindly rendered by
others in this work. Salary received from charges, $633.63; and received rent from District Parsonage,
$25; total, $658.63. Received as presents, $7.10. Paid on repairs and debt on parsonage, $25. In all, the
Lord has been good to me. Gratefully submitted, George P. Hott, P.E.
