3. On motion the matter of detaching Belmont from Staunton was referred to the official
boards of Staunton and Belmont, and, if satisfactory arrangements can be made, then Belmont can be
attached to Augusta circuit.
4. That it be left discretionary with the presiding elder to detach Circleville from Franklin
circuit and attach to Pendleton circuit.
5. The new towns between Blain [Blaine] and Bayard, on the West Virginia Central Railway,
be added to the Bayard circuit.
6. That the presiding elder be paid $1,000 and parsonage rent.
7. That the pastors pay quarterly to the sustentation fund treasurer the presiding elder’s salary
and that this treasurer be authorized to pay the presiding elder monthly, and, if necessary, borrow the
money to do so.
8. That the assessment for presiding elder’s salary be 2/3 of the assessment last year. The
assessment for home missions be 2/3 of the general assessment last year, and that the sustentation fund
assessment be increased by 1/3 of presiding elder’s and general missionary assessment for last year.
9. All other assessments to remain as last year, except slight increase in bishop’s salary.
10. That the interest accruing from the parsonage fund at Dayton, Va., be applied on the
parsonage debt.
11. That the presiding elder’s salary and sustentation assessment be secured early in the year
and sent direct to the treasurer.
12. Appropriations [salary supplements for missions]: Keyser, $400; Roanoke, First church,
$300; Bayard, $100, provided a suitable young man can be secured for the place; Westernport, $50; and
Prince William, $75.
13. That the matter of employing an evangelist be left to the discretion of the presiding elder.

Ordered that a mission be opened in South Cumberland; that Broadway be taken from Lacey Springs and added to
Singers Glen; that Mt. Carmel, Pleasant View, and Cherry Grove be added to Singers Glen; that Mt. Clinton be taken from
Singers Glen and given to Dayton; that Dayton and Harrisonburg circuit be united; that the new towns between Blaine and
Bayard on the W. V. C. Railroad be added to Bayard circuit; that the presiding elder be paid $1,000 and parsonage rent.
