Missions General. The missionary spirit is being greatly developed among all our people. There
never was a more general and generous response to the call for money for missions, general, than now.
All the charges, except three, will pay their assessment for this department in full, and some much more
than the assessment. The district will report $754.11 for this phase of the work.
Home Mission. For the first time in our history, there was an assessment laid for home mission.
The pastors and people recognizing the fact that this was vital to our own enlargement have given it a
most hearty support I am proud to report that the full amount assessed for home work will be paid and
much more. Fully $590 has been put upon the altar from the district. In this connection I wish to report
that God has opened the way to begin work in South Cumberland, Md. The pastor of this new field will
be largely supported by individuals who have become interested in planting a U.B. church in this most
promising field. About $400 has been pledged annually for 3 or 4 years for the support of a pastor in
this work.
