Jeremiah was the 4th child of John George and Elizabeth Ermentraudt, born in 1822. He was bapt. at Pk. Mtn. Ch., 12 Jan
1823, and his parents were his sponsors.1 He received his early education in the German Ch. school. He mar. a cousin, Sarah
J Miller, in 1847 and 11 children were born to them.2 Jeremiah was a farmer all of his life and lived most of it in Rock. Co.,
Va. The 1850 cen. rec. list him with a wife and 2 children. 3 He moved his family to Witt Twp., Montgomery Co., Ill., where
they were members of the local Pres. Ch. in 1855.4 Apparently they did not like Ill. as they returned to Rock. Co. after a
short stay, as the 1860 cen. rec. list his per. prop. at $1,775.5 Sarah, his wife, died in 1868 and the 1870 cen. rec. list Jeremiah
as a widower with a farm valued at $2,000 and per. prop. of $815. At this time 10 of his children were still at home.6 His
name also appears in the 1880 cen. rec. Jeremiah died in 1887 at the age of 65. Both he and Sarah were buried in Mt. Olivet
Cem., McGaheysville, Va. 7 nfd

William C was bapt. at Pk. Mtn. Ch., 16 Apr 1848, and his parents were his sponsors. He was a farmer. He and Christena J
Ergenbright were mar. by Rev J C Hensel in 1876. The 1870 cen. rec. indicate that he and his wife were living in his parents'
home. William was also quite interested in civic matters. He died in 1908 and Christena 3 years later in 1911. Both were

Peter C was bapt. 16 June 2024 at Pk. Mtn. Ch. and his parents were his sponsors. 1 His name appears in the 1850 cen. rec.
as a one year old boy2 and the 1860 rec. list his age as 10.3 Peter went west as a young man and in 1870 he was living in
Saline Co., Mo., and teaching school. 4 He mar. Rachel V Kiser and 4 children were born to this union. 5 Peter went into the
mercantile business in Marshall, Mo., and later he became vice president of the Farmers Saving Bank of Marshall, a position he
held for 15 years.6 He and his family were members of the Marshall Bapt. Ch. Peter died in 1919 and his wife Rachel in
1939 at the age of 90. Both were buried at Marshall, Mo. nfd
