Barbara Jane was bapt. at Pk. Mtn. Ch., 20 Sept 1863.1 Her name appears in the 1870 and 1880 cen. rec. as a girl of 8 and
18 years respectively.2 She was past her 28th birthday when she and Wilton Ashby Melhorn were mar. in Covington, Va., in
1891. Two children were born to them. The mar. license was issued in Rock. Co., Va.,3 and the ceremony was performed by
Rev I Condor. Barbara's husband, Wilton Ashby, was named for the Confederate General Ashby by his father Capt John W
Melhorn who commanded Co. C, 10th Regt. Va. Inf. CSA during the Civil War. After their mar. they made their home in
Charlottesville, Va., where the twins were born. They later moved to New Philadelphia, Ohio, where they were members of
the Luth. Ch. and he worked at his profession as an electrician.4 Barbara died in 1922 and her husband Wilton died 7 years
later in 1929. Both were buried at New Philadelphia, Ohio. nfd

Ralph W grad. from Ohio State Univ. with a BS degree in Geology. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW I in an
Aerial Photo Topographic Unit, Sec. No. 62, ASA. In 1917 he and Velma P Jones were mar. and 2 children were born to them.
After the war Ralph served as a geologist for 2 of the major oil cos. During WW II he was district geologist for PAW and at the

He was commissioned in the US Army Air Corps in WW II and saw service as a meteorologist. He was an instructor for a time
in the States and later served in the Pacific Theater. He was returned to inactive duty with a Major's Commission in the U S
Air Force. In 1958 he was assoc. prof. of geology at Purdue Univ. He and Agnes LB Ogg were mar. in 1961. She has a BA
