$2,500. There is a good dwelling house upon it and can be used. On this lot they propose to
build a new and modern church in the near future.
 Pleasant Valley Circuit (W. H. Sampsell, pastor): Mt. Sinai—New brick walk, $27. Shady
Grove—A new board of trustees has been appointed and plans are being matured for a new
church.

 Roanoke First Church (T. M. Sharp, pastor): Killed the interest on $5,000 and paid $3,262.08 on
their debt. They paid altogether on their church obligations, $4,270.33; this was a great victory.

 Shenandoah (B. N. Sypolt, pastor): Grove Hill—A new fence at church, cost $85.42.
Shenandoah Church—Pulpit recessed, painted inside and outside, new carpet, and paper, all at a
cost of $212.

 Singers Glen Circuit (G. B. Fadeley, pastor): Cootes Store—Plans have been made for a new
church at or near Cootes Store. New Salem—A new organ in church.

 South Branch charge (L. A. Racey, pastor): Lahmansville church—painted inside and new
carpet, $48. Mt. Olive church—new stove, and fence painted, $36.50.

 Staunton Station (G. W. Stover, pastor): Church will pay $1,000 on their debt and on interest.
 Toms Brook Circuit (C. P. Dyche, pastor): Shiloh Church—New fence, $35.
 West Frederick Circuit (L. A. Messick, pastor): Laurel Hill—A new chandelier for the church,

cost $10. Mt. Hebron church—A new iron fence for church and cemetery, $110.

 Winchester (R. G. Hammond, pastor): A new organ, $90.

Parsonages. The new eight-room parsonage, located at Verona, Va., was consecrated
November 26th by the Conference Superintendent. The house and lot cost $1,538.08—W. S. Rau,

pastor. A new nine-room parsonage was built at Cacapon. This is one of the best and most inviting
parsonages in the Conference. It is built of cement blocks of the best variety and cost $1,622—C. D.

Bennett is the pastor. The parsonage in Stephen City was sold during the year for $1,650, and the
money divided between Frederick and Toms Brook circuits—$325 going to Toms Brook and the

remaining with Frederick. Ground has been broken at Reliance for a new parsonage for Frederick,
which, when completed, will cost $2,000—J. C. S. Myers, is the pastor. The lot in Woodstock was sold

for $324.50, and the proceeds applied to the parsonage and new lot adjoining in Edinburg. A new
heating stove was also placed in this same parsonage—S. D. Skelton, pastor.

Other Improvements. Keyser paid $183 on their debt and made $12 improvement—J. H. Brunk,
pastor. Berkeley Springs circuit paid $100 on their debt and $15 on improvements—W. D. Good,
pastor. Jones Spring made improvements to the amount of $35—F. B. Chubb, pastor. Shenandoah paid
$85 on their debt and made improvements of $58.11—B. N. Sypolt, pastor. Elkton paid on debt $25 and
built a storage room and cellar a cost of $92—N. F. A. Cupp, pastor. Churchville bought a good two-

acre lot adjoining the parsonage for $229, and put a new heating stove in the parsonage that cost
$10.50—A. P. Sallaz, pastor. West Frederick paid $118.50 on their parsonage, the last of the debt
proper—L. C. Messick, pastor. Upper Tract parsonage painted and papered at a cost of $75—J. W.

Stearn, pastor. Crabbottom parsonage was greatly improved by a $500 addition being built to it, making
one of the most comfortable homes in the Conference—J. B. Fergerson, pastor. A new cellar wall put
under the parsonage at Maysville; cost $20—L. A. Racey, pastor. Martinsburg paid off their parsonage
debt of $200—A. B. Wilson, pastor. Harrisonburg paid $500 on their parsonage debt—A. S. Hammack,

pastor. Sister Madison gave to Bethel church on Lacey Springs charge $400. By a will of Brother
Clarence Sherman, Jenkins Chapel on Lost River charge gets $75 for painting the church, and Garrett’s

chapel on same charge $50 for a new organ, and the Quincy Orphanage receive $100. By will, for

5 years, Brother H. N. Whitesell gave to Harrisonburg $100.
