Report of the Superintendent (pp. 8-17). To the presiding bishop and all the members of the
One Hundred Tenth Annual Session of the Virginia Conference; grace, mercy, and peace, from God, our
Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. My dear brethren: In submitting to you this my sixth annual report,
my third as the Superintendent of the entire Conference, I earnestly ask that you unite with me in giving
thanks to God for his ever-increasing mercies and blessings. Never in the history of the Conference has
God dealt more tenderly or bestowed his blessing more abundantly. Our dear Lord has been consciously
present with the toilers, encouraging and sustaining them in their divinely appointed work. The Holy
Spirit has been upon both the faithful Ministry and Laity, empowering them, and through them hundreds
of souls have been saved and added to the Church.

Sickness and Death. On July 22, 1908, Mrs. N. F. A. Cupp, the beloved wife of Rev. N. F. A.
Cupp, bade her family and this world goodbye, and went to her everlasting reward. And on September
17, 1908, Miss Winona Cupp, youngest daughter of Bro. N. F. A Cupp, followed the mother through
death into the Spirit world. These now rest from their labor while their works follow them. Brother
Cupp has had the prayers and sympathy of all his brethren in the Ministry and Laity. On November 6th,
1908, Sister Rebecca J. W. Howe, wife of Rev. J. W. Howe, deceased, passed from labor to reward. Her
last years were spent in great physical suffering, but she endured in beautiful submission, waiting
patiently and with joyful anticipation the day of her release. She lived a quiet, unassuming, Godly life
and now rests in peace. Bro. George P. Hott has not been able to do any preaching during the year, but
has sufficiently recovered to do some office work and to superintend the church work in Dayton. Bro.
C. H. Crowell was compelled to leave his work in Berkeley Springs on November 1st, on account of
failing health and has not been able to do any active work since. Rev. Dr. J. B. Chamberlain kindly kept
up the Sunday service in Bro. Crowell’s absence.

Resignations and Supplies. Rev. G. B. Fadeley resigned Churchville March 23, 1908, and was
appointed to Singers Glen, on March 24, 1908. Rev. A. P. Sallaz was appointed to Churchville on April
13, 1908. Rev. A. V. Vondersmith resigned Lacey Springs, April 14, 1908, and Rev. Dr. A. P.
