cost of the building was $6,578.84. Possibly the best church for the money in the Conference. Sunday,

September 29, 1907, was dedication day for the new and most complete church house in the Conference,

located in the city of Roanoke, Va., C. H. Crowell, pastor. The dedication sermon was preached by Rev.

Dr. Parrett. This church and lot cost $15,372. The church is of modern design, and is centrally located.
Here is almost a limitless field and great opportunity for our church. On Sunday, July 7th, the
cornerstone for a new church was laid at Verona, Va., Augusta circuit—J. C. S. Myers, pastor. This

church is finished and will be dedicated by Bishop T. C. Carter, D.D., March 28, 1908. It is one of the

best country churches in the county. A new church is in process of erection at Ridings Chapel,

Frederick circuit, and will be ready for dedication in the early summer. This will be a splendid church

when finished. Salem, a practically new church on Inwood circuit, was reopened by the writer on

October 13, 1907. The church was really made new at a cost of $560; A. J. Secrist, pastor. A new and

handsome parsonage was built in Harrisonburg, Va., at a cost of $3,500. It is one of the best planned

and most complete parsonages in the Denomination. A. S. Hammack is the pastor and happy occupant.

Church and Parsonage Improvements.

 Augusta Circuit: Mt. Pisgah—Church painted, cost, $49.50.
 Bayard Circuit: Bayard Church—Paid on their debt $150, and put in new, circular pews, $270.
 Cacapon Circuit: Great Cacapon Church—Paid the last of its debt, $43.50. Paw Paw—Fixing to

build a new church during the coming summer.
 Dayton Circuit: Dayton Church—Paid $235 on their debt and put in a library at a cost of $35.
 Edinburg Circuit: Otterbein Church—Improvements, $35. Parsonage—Edinburg put city water

into the parsonage.
 Elkton Circuit: East Point church—Painted, cost, $60. Elkton—Paid on their debt $100, and on

improvements, $79.
 Franklin Circuit: Franklin—Paid off its debt of $140. High Rock Church—Painted, cost, $100.
 Inwood Circuit: Inwood church—Repaired, cost, $65. Pleasant Plain Church—A good well,

cost, $40. Parsonage—Furniture and house repaired, cost, $43.75.
 Jones Spring Circuit: Central church—New roof, cost, $85. Providence Church—Remodeled

and improved, cost, $350. Sleepy Creek church—debt reduced $25.
 Keyser Station: Church—Improvements, cost, $500, and paid on their debt $300.
 Lacey Springs: Church—Repaired, cost, $45. Mountain Valley Church—New organ, cost, $55.

Parsonage—improvements, cost, $12.
 Lost River circuit: Baker’s Run Church—New organ, cost, $35. Sperry’s Run church—New

pulpit set, $15.

 Martinsburg Station: Paid on its debt, $140.
 Pleasant Valley Circuit: Mt. Hebron church—improvements, cost, $24. Mt. Sinai church—

improvements, cost, $10. Pleasant Valley church—improvements, cost, $30. Parsonage—new
kitchen, painting, and other improvements, $111.50.
 Shenandoah Circuit: Shenandoah City—Paid $300 on church debt.
 Singers Glen Circuit: Mt. Carmel church—Improvements, $76.50. Singers Glen Church—New
fence, cost, $120, bookcase and organ and new carpet in library, cost, $75.
 South Branch Circuit: Mt. Olive church—Painted and new fence around the church, cost, $90.
Parsonage—Had a telephone installed.
 South Cumberland Mission—Bought a good double-corner lot for $700 and paid for it, and put up
the foundation for a new church, and are now creating a fund with which to build a new church.
