Report of the Committee on Elder’s Orders (p. 12). The following report was adopted: We
your Committee on Elder’s Orders beg leave to submit the following. We carefully examined Bro. J. N.
Fries [among others], according to the Discipline, and found them well prepared. They rendered entire
satisfaction to the Committee, and [we] recommend their ordination. J. W. Kiracofe, William Beall, and
C. I. B. Brane, the Committee.
Report of the Committee on Education (p. 6). Resolved, (1) That we recognize in Union
Biblical Seminary a power for good in our Church, and that we will do all we can consistently in
procuring students for it. (2) That we express our satisfaction with the faculty of that institution and the
course of instruction; and that we accept the assessment made by the Board of Education, and are
pleased to have Bro. Hippard, its agent, among us. (3) That we are pleased to hear of the prosperity of
Lebanon Valley College, and are glad to have President DeLong with us. (4) That a committee be
appointed to confer with the authorities of Lebanon Valley College respecting the disposition of the
funds secured by Bro. Keedy as agent for that institution. (5) That a committee be appointed to audit the
accounts and reports of Revs. D. D. Keedy, Agent, and A. J. Harp, Treasurer, of the Educational Fund.
(6) That a committee be appointed to visit Shenandoah Seminary at its closing exercises in June next

Location—Shenandoah Seminary is located at Dayton, Rockingham County, Va., a pleasant and
healthful village, 4 miles southwest of Harrisonburg. It has daily communication with the railroad.
There are no saloons or other low places of resort. Buildings and Grounds—The Ladies’ Boarding Hall
is a large brick structure, pleasantly arranged. Two of the recitation rooms are in this building. The
