School is especially adapted to the study of music. The Board of Trustees, at their meeting in June
1905, ordered new buildings, a steam-heating plant, and other improvements. The work was completed
and buildings ready for use by the middle of September (the opening of the fall term). Every room was
taken the first week of school. Students are enrolled from Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania,
Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Michigan, New York, and New
Mexico. The property of the institution is worth $25,000. The music department is a special feature of
the School—an excellent orchestra of 20 members and a band of 25 members, with more than 100
pupils taking piano, voice, and violin. E. U. Hoenshel, Principal. Dayton, Va.
