prosperously growing, and we believe is enlarging its field of usefulness. The improvements last year

helped much in the line of accommodating the School, but still there are needs. The parlor and office
are both used as music rooms. All the students’ rooms are filled, and about 25 gentlemen are obliged to

find rooms out in town. Then, there is a small debt on the purchase of the property to be provided for.

These and other needs demand enlarged contributions to this central interest of the Conference. Two in

the School are preparing for the ministry. During the revival, 17 were converted, and a number of them

joined the Church. In this report I wish to acknowledge the help and kindness of the brethren, and

especially of our Divine Master. G. P. Hott, Principal.

Visiting Committee to Shenandoah Institute (p. 13). We, your visiting committee to

Shenandoah Institute, beg leave to report the following: We were present at the examination of classes

of Shenandoah Institute during the closing week, June 5, 1890. We found the School in good condition,

and the promptness with which the questions were answered in the examinations showed that great

proficiency had been attained in the several studies. The records showed an increase of students far

above any previous year. Resolved, That we lend our influence as a conference in sending students to

Shenandoah Institute. J. B. Chamberlain.
