Elias Brunk Estate (Formerly known as the Samuel Weaver Estate).

2. LOCATION:
Four miles west of Harrisonburg, Virginia, on Route 4, north side, next to Weaver’s Church.

3. DATE:
About 1827.

4. OWNERS:
 Original owner, 1827, Samuel Weaver.
 1868, Mary Weaver Brunk, his daughter.
 1907, Elias Brunk, their son, the present owner.

5. DESCRIPTION:

6. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
Samuel Weaver’s grandfather, Emanuel Weaver was one of the first pioneer settlers who came to Rockingham
County from Pennsylvania with the German migration following the close of the French and Indian War in
1763. Samuel Weaver gave the land for the present Weaver Mennonite Church from this estate, which was the
third Mennonite church built in this country.
