and China. These come under the supervision of a national conference. A small staff of about
12 people work at the national office, which we call Healthy Ministry Resources. That name sums up
why the national office exists—to serve and be a resource to our churches as they develop healthy
ministries. Healthy Ministry Resources occupies a denomination-owned building right next to
Huntington University. The staff include the bishop, directors for specific areas (Global Ministries,
Finance, Communications), and various support personnel–about a dozen people total.
The following circuits were established for the UBIC in the Shenandoah Valley area:
Augusta Circuit, UBIC, was formed in 1893 and included Spring Hill, Jerusalem Chapel, Green
Valley, Olivet, Bethlehem, Deer Field, Shady Grove. This circuit was served by J. E. Hott, 1893-
1900; G. W. Allman, 1900-1901; H. W. Lindamood, 1901-1903; E. W. M. Hartman, 1903-07; J.
M. Crowell (resigned), 1907; J. F. Combs, 1907-1909; J. L. Kapp, 1909-1910; D. L. Perry, 1910-
1913; J. F. Combs, 1913-1916; and thereafter, not supplied.
Churchville Circuit was formed in 1893 and included Union Hall, Jerusalem Chapel, Clay Hill,
Green Valley.
Circleville Mission was formed in 1918 by detaching the northern part of Highland Mission.
East Holston Mission was formed in 1906 and included Rosedale, Dunkin’s Schoolhouse, Hyter’s
Gap, Bromley Gap, Crossroads—it was served by J. F. Combs, 1906-07.
Edinburg Circuit was formed in 1894 and was served by W. Lindamood, 1894-95; H. W.
Lindamood, 1895-96; D. L. Perry, 1896-97.
Gordansville Circuit was formed in 1898 and served by G. W. Allman, 1898-99.
Hagerstown Circuit (included Chewsville) was served by P. O. Wagner, 1893-96; J. H. Parlett,
1896-98; W. J. Funkhouser, 1897-99; H. W. Lindamood, 1899-1901; W. J. Funkhouser, 1901-03;
J. W. Chambers, D. L. Perry, 1903-06 ; not supplied, 1906-07; J. H. Parlett, 1907-09; J. F.
Combs, 1909-11; and Jos. M. Crowell, 1911-12.

1915-17; in 1924 it merged with Circleville Mission.
