Stained Glass Windows in the Churches of Harrisonburg

This window (nearest the rear on the south side of the church) focuses on the break with Rome during the
Reformation Era. The iconography features the execution of Archbishop Cranmer in 1556 and the
martyrdom of other churchman (including Charles I) during the years of intense religious strife in England
in the 16th and 17th centuries. One of Cranmer’s enduring achievements was the writing of the Book of
Common Prayer in English.
