B. SUMMARY OF ANNUAL CONFERENCES, 1800-1875

Note that the Virginia Conference numbers its annual meeting with the Conference of 1800 as its
first Annual Conference. Minutes for the Virginia Conference are not available (at least in the historical
archives of Shenandoah University, Virginia Conference, or Baltimore-Washington Conference) before
1876.

Further, the Conference Minutes do not provide information on the reports of presiding elders
until 1879. Thus, we rely on [Funkhouser 1921] for information on the events of the Virginia
Conference for the period 1800-1875. This summary is from [Funkhouser 1921, pp. 101-125].
