Volume 6 Relation of U.B/EUB Virginia Conferences to Shenandoah University Dec. 26, 2013

 Dr. Forrest Sheldon Racey (Business Manager and President)
 James H. Ruebush (student, 1878-83; Vocal and Instrumental Music, 1890-93, 1898-22; and

Principal)
 Franklin G. Senger (History)
 Lee B; Sheaffer (Religion)
 Harlan C. Snow (Voice, Theory, and Director of Choral Activities)
 Bruce C. Souders (English and Philosophy; Chairman, English Department)
 James A. Swain (History and Bible)
 Luther P. Tederick (Assistant Librarian)
 Ben Frank Wade (Bible, Christian Ethics, Religion and Philosophy)

 William J. Zuck (Principal; Classical Department; Latin, Greek, and Mathematics; 1880-81).

The preachers who were assigned to Dayton U.B. Church all probably served, at least informally,
as college chaplains; and many may have taught courses in Bible and Christian Ethics, as did Ben Wade
and J. Paul Gruver. Table 5 and Table 6 are from Vol. 1 of this History (Section II.B.14). Note that the
composition of Dayton Circuit (Table 5) changed many times over these years, resulting in abrupt
changes in the total membership of the charge (the set of churches to which a pastor was appointed to
serve). Table 7 completes these data for Winchester, 1960-69.
