Location | Lacey Spring Area, Rockingham County, Virginia. From Harrisonburg, Virginia, go north on Route U.S. 11 (No. Valley Pike) to Route 806 (Martz Road) and turn right. Go 2/10ths mile to Route 986 (Stony Point Road) and turn left. Go 1.2 miles and cemetery is sitting back off the right side of the road. |
Notes | Cemetery is overgrown and has a stone wall around it which is breaking apart. Owner of land around the cemetery has plans to restore this cemetery. The owner is restoring the house once owned by Eunice A. Lincoln, which is just beyond the cemetery location. Notes in Remarks Column were provided by the D.A.R. Rev. William Houston, a Methodist Episcopal Minister, was a prominent member of this family and was connected with the Smiths of Smithland. See Harrison History, pages 405-11 and 485-6. |
