the 1850 cen. rec. Richard is listed as a young man of 18.2 He mar. Sarah Margaret Armentrout, a distant cousin, in 18553
and 4 children were born to this union. Margaret was also bapt. at the Pk. Mtn. Ch. on 8 Aug 2024 and her parents were her
sponsors.1 The 1860 cen. rec. list Richard as a farm laborer with per. prop. valued at $975 and mar.4 He and his wife were
members of the Pk. Mtn. Ch. and all of their children were bapt. there. He enlisted in the Confederate Army and was KIA in
the latter part of the War. Margaret was listed as a widow in the 1870 cen. rec. with a small farm valued at $900 and per. prop.
