Harley was born in Iowa in 1878 and was a little over 4 years of age when his father died and his mother moved the
family to Centralia, Wash. He was a logger and was killed in 1904 in an accident when a cable broke. He mar. Lucinda
Robbins prob. in early 1904. They had one child born 6 mo. after his death. Burial was in Centralia. nfd

Maggie Evalina or Eva as she was usually known was a child of 2 years of age when her father died and her mother moved
the family to Centralia, Wash. In 1898 when she was 18 Eva and Edward E Dillon were mar. in Bucoda, Wash., and 2 children
were born to this union. Edward was a coal miner. He died and burial was in Seattle, Wash. After his death, Eva made her
home with her dau., Marie Fusco, in Centralia where she was post mistress and active in the Bapt. Ch. She died in the fall of
1970 and interment was in Mt. View Burial Park, Centralia. nfd (Data, Eva Dillon and Jane M Armentrout)

Thomas J, Jr, was born in Centralia, Wash., in 1885 about 6 mos. after his father's death. When grown he established him-
self in Portland, Ore., where he became a very prominent businessman. He was active in business and civic affairs; was presi-
dent of Armentrout and Wicke Motor Co.; and listed in Ore. Who's Who in 1948-49. He was a member of the Masons and a
Past Master of Lents Lodge No. 156; a Past Patron of the Scott Chapter No. 110 of the Eastern Star; and a past president of
the Rose City Pres. Men's Club. He also was a member of the Southeast Chamber of Commerce; the Automobile Dealer's
Assoc.; and the Hollywood Lions Club. He died in 1957 and was buried in Portland. nfd (Data, Eva Dillon, sis.)

Herbert was born·in 1912 in Portland, Ore., the only child of Thomas J and Hazel L Armentrout. He received his early
education in the Portland Public Schools. He attended Whitman Col., Walla Walla, Wash., from 1931 to 1933 and grad. from
the Univ. of Ore. in 1938 with a BS degree and from the Univ. Medical School with an MD in 1942. Herbert and Jane Agnes
Myers were mar. in Portland in 1940 and 3 boys were born to this union. In July 1943 he was commissioned in the U.S.
Naval Reserve and served as Medical Officer aboard the USS Morris, DD 417 for 20 mo. He was seriously wounded when the
destroyer was hit by a suicidal Kamikaze plane. After his return to inactive duty, he was resident physician at the Univ. of Ore.
for 3 years and from 1949 to 1973, when he retired, practiced internal medicine in Portland.

His wife, Jane, was born in Portland in 1916 and attended the Public Schools there and grad. from St. Helen's Hall Episco-
pal HS. She attended the Univ. of Wis. and grad. in 1937 from the Univ. of Ore., Eugene, Ore., with a BS degree. A year later
she received an MA degree in Biochemistry from the Med. School of the Univ. of Ore. The next 2 years were spent as a lab.
technician with the Ore. Board of Health followed by a year teaching English and Science at St. Helen's Hall HS. During
1941-42 she was employed by the Dept. of Experimental Medicine, Med. School, Univ. of Ore. as a research technician. She is
a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and does volunteer work as a guide at the Ore. Museum of Science and Industry and as
a clerk at Planned Parenthood.

Both are very much interested in genealogy and in 1979 they visited the Valley of Va. to see the area from which his fore-
fathers came. Their present residence is on the Clackamas River near Portland where Herbert enjoys his hobby of horticulture

another in Geology in 1965 followed by an MS in Geology in 1967, all from the Univ. of Ore., Eugene, Ore. He received a PhD
