Hugh Devies Home (Site).
2. LOCATION:
About two miles northeast of Spring Creek, Virginia, and not on a public highway.
3. DATE:
Unknown.
4. OWNERS:
Hugh Devies, land grant from England; this grant has been subdivided several times. The owners at present of
the homesite are Harshberger heirs, Don Crawn et al.
5. DESCRIPTION:
Only an original “Home Site.” The present home is located on a different section of the land.
6. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
Hugh Devies was one of the first settlers in this part of Virginia and owned a large tract of land, which was
granted him by patent from England.
