The present owner is a stepmother of Mrs. Lydia Chambers, who is not a resident of our city. The owner is a
very old lady and lives in some part of Indiana.
5. DESCRIPTION:
This is an abandoned, partially tumbled down shack, yet it is associated with the early town history.
6. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
This house is near the banks of North River. It withstood the ravages of the great floods of 1870-7, and the
recent spring flood of 1937. Then it was occupied but now is abandoned.
