OWNERS: Original owner in 1822 was John H. Simmers. It became the
property of his son, John H. Simmers, Jr. at his death in 1847, and he held
possession of it until his death in 1875, when it then became the property
of his son Joseph W. Simmers. He held possession of it until his death in
1915. It was then purchased by the present owner, Thomas Bradburn.
DESCRIPTION: The interior is plain as found in any old mill, and the
exterior is also the same.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: This is one of the oldest and first mills built
in this county. It ground grain for the early settlers, and also furnished
feed and flour for the soldiers of the War Between The States.
