Original owner from 1763 to 1825 was Peter Burkholder. 1825 he gave site to Mennonite Congregation and it still remains in their hands.
Interior is very plain, also exterior. Part of it is the original, but some has been remodeled.
Mennonite faith came from Pennsylvania, and came to Rockingham County with the German migration following the close of the French and Indian War in 1763. The established this church and it was the second Mennonite Church erected in Rockingham County.
