  8. The Baptist congregation has held possession of this property since the organization of the church in 1756.

  9. DESCRIPTION:
  10. It is impossible to give the architectural construction of these early buildings which have long since been rebuilt and several times remodeled; and the present brick building is modern in every way.

  11. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
  12. The early English settlers established a Baptist Church at Linville Creek (now Page County) in 1743, and in August 1756, the Linville and Smith Creek churches were organized in Rockingham County.
