  1. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
  2. This was the original home of the Hollen family, who were very early Dutch settlers in Virginia, coming from the state of Pennsylvania. They are a very thrifty family of farmers, also very prolific, as the Dry River section is well settled with Hollens. They are substantial folks, many of them trucker on the fertile river bottoms along the Dry River.
