  8. The present owner is a stepmother of Mrs. Lydia Chambers, who is no a resident of our city. The owner is a very old lady and lives in some part of Indiana.

  9. DESCRIPTION:
  10. This is an abandoned, partially tumbled down shack, yet is associated with the early town history.

  11. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
  12. This house is near the banks of North River. It withstood the ravages of the great floods of 1870-1877, and the recent spring flood of 1937. Then it was occupied, but now is abandoned.
