  7. OWNERS:
  8. Part of the William Herring home and part of the original Patent Land Grant.

    Captain Herring inherited this land from his father, and now it is owned by his son, Charles G. Herring.

  9. DESCRIPTION:
  10. This building is more modern, with stucco exterior, but in a neglected condition, with tumble down porches, etc., but formerly it was one of the show places in the Valley.

  11. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
  12. This was the home of one of the leading aristocratic families (Captain John A. Herring’s), whose ancestry dates back to pre-Revolutionary days.
