  8. This house was first used as a parsonage for the German Reformed Church.

    The property later changed hands several times, but now belongs to Charles Funkhouser, of Mt. Crawford, Virginia.

  9. DESCRIPTION:

    This house is pointed out as one of the first houses built in Mr. Crawford. It has been repaired, but never remodeled, and has the same general appearance that it had when first built.

  11. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
  12. The famous "Daddy Benson" was the first German Reformed preacher in this part of the country and covered much territory in his sheep skin saddle on horseback.
